Karen Spaulding joined Beatty & Wozniak in 2006. With 20 years of legal experience, Karen brought the specialties of employment law and complex civil litigation to the firm. Karen has spent her career in Colorado, receiving her undergraduate degree from University of Colorado, and her JD from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon in 1986.
Most recently corporate counsel at an international travel company, Karen practiced in all areas of employment law as well as contracts, business law and civil litigation. But her five years practicing in the natural resources industry gave her the experience she wanted to return to. “The oil and gas industry always intrigued me, and I enjoy applying my legal expertise in new and different ways.” At Beatty & Wozniak, Karen defends the firm’s corporate clients in litigation matters and advises them on employment law issues that arise in day-to-day business activities, helping them address issues quickly and efficiently, with minimum impact on their business unit.
She is the current Board Vice Chair of Work Options for Women and current Chair of the Aina Holland Scholarship Fund of the Cherry Creek Business and Professional Women’s Network. She lives in Arvada with her husband and two cats, and enjoys skiing, mountain biking, tennis, sailing, and photography. |
